The Ghana Culture Forum (GCF) is gearing up to hold its maiden conference on culture in Ghana. The event is to bring all the groups under the cultural fraternity to dialogue on the way forward for the creative industry.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday 29th November at the National Theatre, Accra.

The conference would be under the theme, “Projecting our National Culture: The Quest for Creativity, Excellence and Relevance”.

The conference seeks to affirm the work of the GCF which is centered on the common vision of affirming the cultural foundations of development and enhancing the profile, value and impact of the cultural sector.

The plenary session will discuss perspectives on the challenges that confront us as a developing country and people as we grapple with the complex issues of advancing our national culture. Over 500 delegates are expected to attend the conference from across the country.

The Minister of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare is to deliver an address as the special guest of honour. Other personalities to address the gathering would be Professor Kofi Agyekum, Director, School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, Legon and The Conference Chairperson is Togbi Edem Kwaku Ashigbi (ING Kenneth Ashigbey) Managing Director, Graphic Communications Group Limited

The conference is held in partnership and support from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts. The Ghana Culture Forum (GCF) – is a membership-based civil society consultative and advocacy network of cultural practitioners, activists and organizations in Ghana.
